Yay! I’ve upgraded.
Hi, I’m back again from the mountains feeling tiresome and I assume a not-so-serious flu has captured me. Regardless of the circumstances yet I’m ready to continue doing the things I do best, so today I decided to get into some small trouble. I did a refresh on my blog with some obstacles during the road ;).
When WordPress 2.5 came out I didn’t rush into it to immediately upgrade. Although I’ve tested it on my localhost yet more information was needed to convince me on taking this upgrade. While reading different comments and opinions on the net finally I decided today to step for a level up with the hope that it’ll satisfy me and put at ease my liability. Regardless of the situation no serious problem occurred however there was a thing though that stressed me a little bit. If you recall from WordPress Upgrade Guide the second most important step before upgrading one is required to deactivate all the activated plug-ins. Of course I did that, however, as long as we’re human beings I know that we the humans do forget, a lot. Honestly it wasn’t from my forgetfulness but from my neglectfulness. I left the Maintenance Mode plug-in activated presuming that it’ll work just fine even though I have to delete some files from the blog directory. It was kinda stupid from my side I have to admit. Nevertheless that wasn’t the hardest part, it became a pain in the ass when after upgrading I wasn’t able to log in in the admin panel :o, for a second I felt shocked.
But thank God to my well flexibility to react in any extraordinary situation I walked my self out with a solution and now I’m pretty much over happy while experiencing no issue meantime being able to post this from within admin.
