No more than two days ago, I wrote about Robert Nyman, appealing web developers not to waste time trying to fix Internet Explorer 6 CSS issues. I was eager to see the acceptance of this initiative grow. While keeping my finger-crossed I prayed for a quick change, an overnight revolution. Seems like my confession was granted.

A considerable amount of Norwegian sites has publicly declared war on IE6 as referring to this Wired article. Obviously the case has gone way to serious this time, which I strongly hope so. In addition to that, Morten Rand-Hendriksen, the creative director of Pink & Yellow Media has initiated the Stop Living In The Past movement. Stop Livin In The Past.com is one of many currently running sites devoted to phase out IE6. It is, however, much beautiful and feels serious enough to encourage everyone join this movement.

Morten is by no means criticizing Microsoft, he simply hates IE6 and in that matter doing something that Microsoft should have done time ago, by simply forcing Internet Explorer users upgrade to a newer IE version.

I particularly enjoyed the part where he calls IE6 ‘dinosaur of a browser’

The time has come to phase out this dinosaur of a browser.

For a detailed treatment about his SLITP invention check the F.A.Q. on the site. He also writes about the flow of the process to realizing this small project but with big importance, promoting the continuity of a firm revolution, soon to happen.

Conclusively, the site is a NOS to the international movement, and I’d be disappointed if I would wake up tomorrow and find out that the site redirects to Microsoft Get IE7 or IE8 Beta, just like it happened with poor old savethedevelopers.org.
