Could you tell us something about yourself, who are you, what do you do?

My name is Arian Xhezairi. I’m almost 24 year old Web Developer and Media Producer, born and raised in Prizren, Republic of Kosova. Graduated from UBT with a bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering, majoring in Database Management Systems.
In 2007 I have founded Poenta™, an web design agency where I work together with my younger brother Driton. My main role is Project Manager while I am also in charge for web development and video production, except designing, that’s where Driton comes in.

What is iTechnologize, how did it start and why do you blog here?

iTechnologize can be put this way: “I evangelize people about technology.” The more I surfed the interwebs, the more I started to dive in it. Morally encouraged by many bloggers out there, I considered the odds of joining this giant community of talented people. Also as a web developer when you learn something you’re kinda keen on sharing it with the world. My goal was/is to create a small corner in the internet where I can share my thoughts about particular topics I experience on a daily basis, that readers might just enjoy reading and talking about it.

I blog because I can. I blog because I enjoy doing it. My intention is not to break stories first. I’d be happy enough if something won’t slip unnoticed without me having heard of it. I have no particular plan on getting huge income here, although sponsored ads would be descent to help me pay my hosting fees. ;)

I am not, however, an entrepreneur, not even a wanna be millioner guy. Life has taught me many things, so I don’t ask for much. A happy family and modest life is more than anything else I need.

What languages do you use?

Albanian as my mother-tongue, fluent in English at all three levels, proficient in German, and… wait you mean programming languages! Doh!

Well, during my web development career I had the chance to familiarize with many programming languages. I am deeply in love with the dynamic duo, PHP and MySQL in backend, but inseparably coding XHTML, CSS and jQuery for frontend development. During my bachelor studies I completely happened to dislike JAVA, as a matter of disfavor to my Computer Science II assistant. He totally sucked at lecturing, although was very good with the language itself. Small bits of C#, VB.NET and ASM in my earlier years when I did software programming.

What tools do you use?

Adobe baby! I’m fascinated by this brand, it has totally vanished my desire to try something else. Additionally, Intype for quick and dirty coding, but Dreamweaver rocks in all sorts of aspects. WampServer as my local web server and FlashFXP for uploading files to my server.
I use Photoshop for designing and slicing a web design. Firefox and Chrome for browsing, have Safari and IE8 installed for one reason, they should be there. For film making and special effects I am very closely related to Premiere Pro and After Effects. Finally Defraggler and CCleaner, two most wonderful utilities to date. All the above running pretty smoothly on Windows 7.

Why WordPress?

Why not?! Not by accident “WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.“

Besides, who wouldn’t admire a girlfriend who’s aesthetically beautiful, sex standard, usable and free at the same time?

What is your working experience cover?

Skipping the C64 times in my childhood, I jump straight to building simple web pages in XHTML and CSS back in 2003. Since than I was a freelancer until early 2008 when my brother joined me at DuoInnovative. No less than eight years from every sort of video production and film making activities, since 2000. More than six years developing web sites while focusing on usability and accessibility. And in 2008 I worked as web developer for Ogilvy Interactive branch in Kosova.

What do you do in your spare time, do you have any addictions?

Walking, mountain climbing, shooting for fun, outgoing for coffee, watching movies and laughing.
I am addicted to coffee, sleeping, smoking and internet. Period.
Honestly, if those four wouldn’t exist, I’d doubt the purpose of life.

Do you posses any particular skill?

I speak, type and think fast.
