In the beginning of this week some of us were expecting the availability for download of the newest WordPress version. To your curiosity and informing WordPress developers team is going to delay it’s next major release for one week later, the version 2.5 dubbed TBD. Although this milestone was planned to be released today, it is not though, apparently due to a considerable amount of not yet completed work. A note says that Milestone 2.5 will be available in 6 days, on 03/17/08 to be more exact, so lets look forward to that.

WordPress is my favorite and most preferred blogging tool, since the first moment that I found out of WP I’ve been recommending it to friends, using it on serious projects and doubtlessly using it on every personal site.
At the end, taking into account the hard work and the time being spent by all WP developers, I wouldn’t even dare to think of this delay as a ‘not holding the promise‘ issue nor being disappointed from them. At this point I strongly believe I do really love WordPress so much and will continue to do so until an unspecified time. I’m proud of using it, which you can realize by the small notice on the footer of this page saying that my blog iswordpressicon-hanttula3.jpg

No matter of this, to my opinion no blame should be put upon them about the postponement, for WP is being developed by a number of open-source community developers, doing this based on their own free will, trying hard to serve us the best and most secured releases every time. Besides, I’d rather criticize Microsoft for making us wait until the (God knows when) final release available for public of Vista Service Pack 1 than I would Automattic.
